Ahalia Women and Child Healthcare Centre is an
upcoming, state-of-the-art hospital located in Valanchery, Malappuram
District. This healthcare facility is part of the renowned Ahalia
Foundation, which is headquartered at its main campus in Palakkad.
HK Associates (HKA) has successfully undertaken the design
and execution of a 25 KLD Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) for the Ahalia
Women and Child Healthcare Centre in Valanchery, Malappuram District.
The system is based on the Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) technology,
known for its compactness and efficiency.
In an innovative approach to space optimization, the main
treatment units are installed on the terrace of this seven-story
hospital. The entire setup is constructed using prefabricated mild steel
(MS) sheets, structurally supported by MS C-channels and angles, in
accordance with the approved structural design, with a 3-layer fiber-coated base and epoxy coating for its exterior sides.
To ensure water sustainability, the treated effluent
undergoes tertiary treatment through Ultra Filtration (UF), enabling the reuse
of the treated water for landscaping and toilet flushing purposes. The
system is designed for efficient performance and long-term reliability in a
healthcare environment.
Elokr Prime Apartments is an upcoming premium
residential development located in Perintalmanna, widely known as the hospital
city of Malappuram District. The project comprises 51 residential units
spread across 12 floors, with two additional basement levels.
HK Associates (HKA) has been entrusted with the design
of the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) for this project and has also
successfully obtained the necessary approvals from the Kerala State
Pollution Control Board (KSPCB). The installation of the treatment system
is currently underway.
The STP has a design capacity of 40 KLD and is based
on the Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) technology. To enhance the
quality of the treated water, Ultra Filtration (UF) is incorporated as a
tertiary treatment stage, enabling ultra-purification of the
water for safe reuse in applications such as flushing and gardening.
